couples: Being in a relationship is about give and take, in more or less equal measures. If you've been a bit greedy with the taking lately (be honest!), it might be time to do a little more giving.

i am still pulling back from baby. i'm sensitive to her, yes, but i've retreated a little more.

the other night when i was with her i recognized myself behaving in ways that resembled my behavior around lw. ways i'd stop short or pull back in intimate situations. at other times i found myself contrasting my behavior. baby and i still have an emotional intimacy that i'll never allow with lw. i can see it in baby's eyes, and i hope in convey it in my own. i hope she understands from my touch and my kiss that i still care about her.

but i am putting distance between us. because of what we can and cannot be. mostly what we can't.

am i being greedy? i'm not so sure. we're both giving and taking in equal measure. we're on the same page, i think. sometimes she seems very loving, or at least like she enjoys and almost needs my companionship. at others she seems just to appreciate my sexiness. i don't know that i come across the same way, but i do care. i think she knows it.
