how about instead we just work on our map of our spain trip. google map barcelona. we'll be there in four weeks. now all we have to do is figure out how to print the map with our little markers on it, and a page that explains what they all are. that would be handy.

we're excited, or at least i am. i enjoy travelling, i enjoy going to new places. i am thrilled to be returning to spain, especially since i'll be visiting new territory. once we figure out where we're going, then we have to figure out what to pack. i'm not as sure about that.

- the drawbacks of being alone -

i do have a tendency to talk. i like the sound of my voice. i feel smart when i can keep talking about something, especially if it makes sense. at other times i am imparting information (however useless). sometimes i talk to process things and work out their meaning. it helps to have a sounding board for these things, but often people get bored of my sounds.

i don't have many plans this weekend. no big social plans. few venues for meeting people and impressing them. i don't see myself starting a new relationship or even making a good (romantic) impression on someone. i'll probably stay home and do laundry and watch movies.

what do you expect? i'll be alone, and i have plenty of laundry and movies to catch up on. and music. and money stuff. and email. and you.

people used to tell us on the train how obviously in love with her. much more than she was with me, they'd notice. we haven't ridden the train together in a while, and those people haven't been around much. i think people at work see it. i think they see the chemistry between us, the brilliant flashes of light that shoot through the air whenever we're around each other. i think they notice at least how mad i am for her.

when she moves back to florida they won't have any idea what happened. some of those women will cry more than i will.

but maybe some will cheer.
